Dante is the protagonist of the rebooted portion of the Devil May Cry series.He is a demon-angel hybrid known as a Nephilim, who lives as a demon hunting vigilante. He is counted by the officials of his hometown of Limbo City as a member of an organization of 'terrorists,' and is being pursued by both national and worldwide authorities.

At the start of DmC: Devil May Cry, Dante is unable to remember anything before seven years old. He is tracked down by his twin brother Vergil, leader of the mysterious Order, who helps him remember his past. He remembers that his father was the demon warrior Sparda and his mother was an angel, named Eva. Demons and angels have always been at war, so love between the two was forbidden. Mundus, the king of Demons, found this out and killed their mother. As for their father, he was banished forever, never to return.
Vergil tells Dante that only Nephilim have the ability to kill a Demon King; thus they are the only ones that can take down Mundus. And so Dante's quest for revenge begins.
Dante is the main protagonist in the Devil May Cry series. He is the second son of and, and the younger twin brother of. As such, he is a half-demon, half-human hybrid.

Dante is a mercenary dedicated to exterminating demons, a mission he follows in pursuit of those that killed his mother and corrupted his brother. Dante was born after Vergil to Sparda and Eva. Sometime before their eighth birthday, Eva gave Dante and Vergil each a half of the Perfect Amulet.
Eventually, Sparda died, and Eva and the twins were left alone. When Dante was eight years old, he and his family were attacked by demons. Eva was killed, and though both Vergil and Dante survived, the twins were separated, and Dante believed Vergil to have died. Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Dante's Theme.
