Md 81299 Tevion Manual
Friends down the road have a got a Tobo (Super Famous brand!), 14' tv they have had for 6 years. The remote control recently went for a swim and they popped off to the local Aldi and came home with a Tevion Universal Remote - which, of course, doesn't have TOBO in it. And since 'I'm the bloke down the road who fixes things, it's now sat on my desk'. The plothora (spelt?), of 4 digit codes is vast. They would be better working on the last digit of pi. I've opened up the tv and the tube is 'made with technology by' Hitachi. Official model is T2342.

The IR board only has CQC (circled), as a symbol of brand and it's also on the main PCB. The only number on the Ir board 14901 Anyone got any ideas on what brand i might have some luck with in the Aldi manual? This model MD 81299 does in fact have a 'auto search mode'. You select TV mode and then select the round power on/off button or Prog (channel up/down or something else. Then select 'search'. It goes through - 1 per second - through the codes. Slight caveat is for 350qty though.!
But this stupid TOBO, has some pretty impressive power save features Pressing menu, brings up the menu (contrast, brightness etc), for about 8 seconds (Yes! That's 8 seconds - not 5 or 10), or when on AV1 or AV2 or TV Channel mode (white noise background), it then goes into a nice big red TOBO word in the middle of the screen, then after it powers down. So i've got to sit here pressing damn butttons, and i never know if i have interrupted the code sequence or my fingers have blocked that 'correct' signal, etc! Checked out - or tried to - the Tevion site.
Which turned into the Medion USA site. And the search engine couldn't find the word Tevion! EDIT: Sorry missed last replies - doing to many things at once, on the sabbath. Day of rest they call it??? 'I'm the bloke down the road who fixes things' = Don't answer door, is either some freakin God group, Foxtel salesperson or an annoying neighbour. Release the hounds.Problem is, the kids play with their kids. And 'We have lots of electrical stuff in our bedrooms that daddy fixes for free, ask mummy.'
Yeah, Viewer, i'll have to drag out an old VHS player and try that. Wonder why the manual states 350qty for this 'Auto searchmode'. I'm not game to count how many 4 digit codes in the TV section are. Call of the wild is calling.
From what I read, these are pretty capable remotes (especially for the price). Have Macro, Volume Punch-thru, LCD, The direct access keys (punch through) enable direct access from TV mode to the functions of other units such as a VCR or DVD player. A changeover via the source keys is no longer needed Home Cinema Macro function (programmable key sequences) Built-in Joystick for easy navigation Pre-programmed for replacing most popular brands' remote controls Can be used for up to 8 different audio/video units by direct selection: TV, VCR, DVD, ASAT, DSAT, CD, AUX, CBL Flexible learning function with integrated EE-prom (up to 150 commands memory) 2-lines LCD-Display for date, clock(12/24hrs) and selected mode I think these were sold at Aldi for $10 on clearance. But $6.98 is still a 30% saving. Code List here, but it's dated 2006: - but the remote can learn other codes anyway.
