You can increase the launch of pretty much any iron head out there by putting a higher launching shaft in it or tweaking the loft. It's a matter of going to the store/demo days and putting different clubs in your hand to see what gives you confidence.

Finally, there is nothing wrong with playing old irons if you like the 845s, plenty of them to be found on Ebay. They are solid, proven irons. I still put my old Ping Eye2s into play every once in a while. I really can't tell much of a difference in terms of performance between them and my Ping G25 irons other than the long irons are easier to hit in the modern clubs.
